This manta is being cleaned by small fish at a ‘cleaning station’ in the Maldives. A fairly small reef manta (about 3m wing tip to wing tip) circled the reef with other mantas, each taking turns to be cleaned. The technique used is Mokuhanga, a traditional Japanese water-based woodblock printing technique.
